Spring 2008 - 3-Day Watercolor Workshop
-John Salminen is one of the premier watercolorists in the USA. He is wonderful both as a realist and an abstractionist. His urban landscapes are unequaled. He teaches composition and shares his techniques with his students. He is coming to us from Minnesota. John is a signature member of eleven (11) watercolor societies. In 2006 he was awarded the Gold Medal at the American Watercolor Society-139th International Exhibition. While perhaps best known for his realistic urban landscapes, John Salminen has also gained recognition for his mixed medium abstract paintings, one of which won first place in Artist's Magazine's 2000 Art competition in the experimental category. Fall 2008 - 3-Day Watercolor Workshop
Mary Ann Beckwith -NWS signature member, will be coming to us after judging the Florida Watercolor Society Show. She is very generous with her knowledge and a great teacher -- makes you want to try new ideas. International Artist gave her 10 pages in the Feb/Mar 2006 issue. Spring 2009 - 3-Day Watercolor Workshop
David Daniels - is one of those rare human beings who cares. He lives in Maryland and teaches at the Simithsonion, in D.C. He also had a 10 page write up in International Artist. He uses a technique similar to batique in water color. His work is exceptional. March 25, 26, 27.
Fall 2009 - 3-Day Watercolor Workshop
George James - is a delightful human being who hails from California, judged the FWS Show in 2005, and is a Dolphin member of AWS, and professor of Art Emeritus at California State University Fullerton. He rejected traditional methods and began working on yupo (in place of paper) and discovered a unique mode of expression. An engaging speaker with a strong sens of composition, abstract yet realistic. You are in for a treat. October 28, 29, 30.
All Workshops are held at the Captain's Club on Beach Boulevard. Class sizes are limited to 20 students. $100 deposit will hold your spot in the workshop. Total cost for 3 day workshop is $325.
