Born in South Bend, Indiana and a Hoosier at heart, attending art classes at Indiana University early on, Kathryn Hannan Milkey is inspired by the gestural nature of art. She thrives on capturing the moments of her personal experiences and finds that these times often mirror the experiences of those with which she comes in contact . Kathryn has traveled extensively throughout her life. She has painted scenes of Maine, Michigan, Kentucky, California, Hawaii, Wisconsin and here at home in Jacksonville, Florida, as well as England, Scotland, Russia, China, Italy , Ireland, Austria, Denmark and Hungry. Kathryn has been in Jacksonville, Florida for 40 years, has five grown children and six beautiful grandchildren. She is an esteemed member of the Jacksonville Watercolor Society, the St. Augustine Art Association and The Hisshin Sumi-e Society of NE Florida, chapter of the Sumi-e Society of America.
