Watercolor began for me 1992 when I met and studied “Exploring Color” with noted author and artist Nita Leland. Understanding the fundamentals of color, of light, how they work and why, enables me to (hopefully) transfer onto paper the emotion and feelings I have for the subject. Watercolor is an honest, stimulating medium, one that creates an excitement I’ve not found with other media. I particularly enjoy painting the casually placed objects that make up our daily lives… the still life. They capture a brief moment in time; subjects that attract me most are filled with fabulous lights, intense darks and sensuous color. My goal is to capture the essence of the moment - not tell the whole story. - See website: www.SassyAndTwisted.com
